Become A Member

The Newtown Fire Association is made entirely out of dedicated volunteers, and we are always looking for new members.

If you are between the ages of 16 and 18 and are currently attending high school, you can apply to be a Junior Firefighter. If you are 18 or older, and have graduated from high school , you can apply to be a Probationary Firefighter. One does not need any prior experience to become a firefighter, we will provide all the required training to you, free of charge.

After filling out an application , you will be required to have a background check, and will be asked to come to one of the stations for an interview. After one has successfully completed those steps, members will vote at a montly meeting whether or not to accept you as a member.
