89th Annual Bucks County Fireman’s Parade
Dear Friends,
This year the Newtown Fire Association is celebrating our 120th anniversary of service to the Newtown area and surrounding communities and will be hosting the 89th Annual Bucks County Fireman’s Parade. To mark this special occasion the Officers and Members of the Newtown Fire Association cordially invite you to participate in a parade through Newtown on June 13th, 2009 at 1:00pm.
The parade will begin at Washington and Lincoln Avenue where it will then turn left onto State Street and left onto Penn Street. The parade will end at the Newtown Industrial Commons and will then be followed by a presentation of awards and trophies. We hope you will join us for food and refreshments in the Industrial Commons after the parade.
THIS IS NOT A "SMALL" EVENT! - Nearly 100 firetrucks and fire department apparatus, and over 800 firefighters will be staged on the streets leading up to the parade route, and marching in the parade itself. The Newtown Borough residents that will be affected by the waiting apparatus have been notified via door-to-door notifications by fire department members and/or informative pamphlets.
This event is NOT just for firemen - ALL are invited to attend the parade! Take the kids and a lawn chair and watch as over a hundred types of various fire department apparatus drive through downtown Newtown, including ladder trucks, rescue trucks, engines, and even rescue boats and antique fire trucks!
Thank you in advance for helping us celebrate our 120th anniversary! We are looking forward to seeing you there! If you have any additional questions, feel free to call Firefighter Eric Anton at 215-870-8181, or Station 45 at 215-968-3731.
Sincerely,
The Parade Committee
Newtown Fire Association
Bucks County Station 45 & 55
