Ladder 45 Construction Progress

 

Our new ladder unit is currently being constructed in Wisconsin by Pierce Manufacturing. Delivery is anticipated in early September 2008. Our current ladder truck, a 1988 Pierce Arrow, will continue to serve the community until delivery of the new unit, when it will be sold to the Bardstown Fire Company in Kentucky. The new unit will include the following features:

• 2008 Pierce Velocity Chassis
• Pierce 105 foot steel aerial ladder with a 750 pound tip load
• Remote tip controls
• Pierce Quick lock movable waterway
• Detroit Diesel Series 60 515 hp diesel engine
• Allison EVS4000 automatic transmission
• Seating for seven firefighters
• Air conditioning
• TAK4 independent front suspension
• Whelen LED warning light package
• Roto Ray and Federal Q siren
• Aluminum body with roll up doors
• Waterous single stage 2000 gpm pump
• 500 gallon water tank
• Two speedlays, with an enclosed pump panel
• 15Kw Harrison hydraulic generator
• Two cord reels and focus lights
